Women in the City scoops Stevie Award

Women in the City won a Stevie Award for Women Helping Women in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business held in New York city on Friday 11 November.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s premier awards for women executives, entrepreneurs, and the organisations they run.

More than 300 nominees and their guests attended the awards dinner at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel in the heart of Manhattan.

In winning the Stevie, Women in the City beat out other finalists from the USA and Romania.  In accepting her Stevie Gwen Rhys, Founder of Women in the City  said, "I'm honoured to have received this Stevie Award and would like to thank everyone who has made it possible - strong women, our corporate sponsors and supportive men."

More than 1,300 entries – a record for the competition - were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year. 

Finalists in the competition were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of six final judging committees selected Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.  More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process this year.
