Mark Palmer-Edgecumbe

Mark is the Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Google for Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.

 

Mark joined Google from Ari Diversity Consulting, a global D&I consulting practice that he established in 2009 upon leaving the role of Global Head of Diversity at Barclays Group. Mark is an acknowledged expert on D&I and writes extensively on the subject including a D&I blog for The Guardian newspaper.

Mark has a broad background in HR having held the roles of HR Director of Iziko Museums of Cape Town, Head of Reward Barclays, as well as HR consulting roles at Arthur Andersen and EY. He began his career in the City as an economist and subsequently held a number of analytical roles including Head of Industry Analysis at NatWest Group and Credit Ratings Analyst at NatWest Markets.

Mark is the Chairman of the Museum of Docklands, Governor of the Museum of London and a Trustee of CareTrade Charitable Trading Company and a Trustee of the Inclusive Foundation.

Mark has a degree in Business Studies and in a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Chris is Senior Lecturer in Operations and Sustainability at Royal Docks Business School. Chris has over 18 years' experience of communicating business ideas and practices in dynamic and culturally diverse areas - public, private and voluntary sectors - across Europe and the Far East.

 

A committed advocate for management and leadership excellence, Chris work to strengthen links between academia and business. Chris is Chairman of the City of London Branch of the Chartered Management Institute, a Visiting Fellow and an expert advisor to the JISC Relationship Management Programme, acting as "critical friend" to the institutional CRM process improvement projects. Chris also acts as consultant, specialising in Lean Six Sigma to deliver major process improvements.
