Future Leaders Award Nomination Criteria

Who is eligible to be nominated?

The award is open to high-potential females in the early stages of their management career (ie pre-partner level in professional practices).

We welcome nominations for women whose management remit falls within a professional role (eg qualified lawyers and accountants) as well as those working in support roles such as marketing, HR, and IT.

Nominated women must be based in London's financial hubs - the City, Canary Wharf and the West End and work in the sectors listed below.

What are the other criteria?

Future Leaders candidates will need to show evidence of their:

  • Making a contribution beyond their functional, technical or specialist area.  
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Leadership potential.  
  • Strategic networking capability.
  • Self-awareness.

  • Facilities Management
  • Financial Services
  • Insurance
  • Legal Services
  • Management Consultancy
  • Property (including Architecture)

Terms and Conditions

  • All entries will be treated as confidential documents, seen only by the judges of The Women in the City Future Leaders Award 2010. 
  • Entries cannot be returned.
  • Women in the City/Networking Culture Limited accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of material submitted.
  • Women unable to attend any of the scheduled Judging Panels may be disqualified from taking their application further.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
  • The Winner's employer must agree in writing to her being released to attend the Cranfield University Accelerated Talent Development Programme.
  • The Winner agrees to pay her own accommodation and travel costs in relation to attending the Cranfield University Accelerated Talent Development Programme.
  • The Winner's Profile will be published by Women in the City/Networking Culture Limited on its website and may be included in Cutting Edge magaines.
  • The Women in the City Future Leaders Winner will be announced on 8 July 2010.
  • The Future Leaders Finalists and Winner  agree to make themselves available, within reason, for promotional purposes organised by the organisers of the Women in the City, Networking Culture Limited and the Award sponsors and endorsers including issuing comments to the media.
