Woman of Achievement Award Nomination Criteria

Who is eligible to be nominated?

Candidates should

  • be women working at partner or senior management level
  • where applicable hold a professional qualification relating to the Award Category for which they are nominated
  • work with organisations based within London's business hubs - the City, Canary Wharf or West End

Who isn't eligible to be nominated?

The Woman of Achievement Awards are designed to recognise women who are going above and beyond their everyday role to support the progress of women. For this reason, women working in roles with specific responsibility for promoting gender equality, diversity in the workplace are not eligible.

Women not working in the professional sectors linked to the Award Categories.

What are the other criteria?

Woman of Achievement Category Award candidates will need to show evidence of

  • Leadership ability
  • Supporting the development of women in their own team and/or within the organisation
  • Ability to build and nurture networks

The Winners of each of the Category Awards will form the short-list for the Woman of Achievement Award and will need to show the extent of their

  • Impact and visibility in their sector
  • Willingness to support progress of women in the wider business world

What are the Award Categories?

  • Accountancy
  • Built Environment (including architecture, surveying, structural engineering)
  • Facilities Management (typically managing in-house or out-sourced building and business services such as catering, reception and security resources)
  • Financial Services
  • Insurance
  • Legal Services
  • Management Consultancy

Terms and Conditions

  • All entries will be treated as confidential documents, seen only by the judges of The Women in the City Woman of Acheivement Award 2010.
  • Entries cannot be returned.
  • Women in the City/Networking Culture Limited accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of material submitted.
  • Women unable to attend any of the scheduled Judging Panels may be disqualified from taking their application further.
  • The judges' decision is final.
  • The Winner's Profile will be published by Women in the City/Networking Culture Limited on its website and may be included in Cutting Edge magazines.
  • The Women in the Women of Achievement Category Winners will be announced in October 2010 and the Woman of Achievement winner in November 2010.
  • The Women of Achievement Category Winners and the Woman of Achievement Winner agree to make themselves available, within reason, for promotional purposes organised by the organisers of the Women in the City, Networking Culture Limited and the Award sponsors and endorsers including issuing comments to the media.
