Pleased with today's results, Gwen Rhys, Chief Executive and founder of Women in the City, said;
"So much publicity has been given this year to the more negative aspects of the business life of the City that it is heartening to be able to announce something positive. Whilst it is easy to make a nomination and simple to complete the application form our judging process is rigorous and all the finalists can feel proud of reaching this stage.
"They have all demonstrated remarkable achievements to date and possess the self-awareness, breadth of experience and ambition needed to be future leaders.
"Furthermore, women play an important role in the City of London and this new award complements our well-established Women of Achievement Awards which recognise the contributions of senior and partner level women."
The winner of the Future Leaders Award, which is sponsored by Barclays Wealth, will be announced by Tom Kalaris, Chief Executive of Barclays Wealth at an Award Ceremony to be held on 8 July 2010 at Barclays, Canary Wharf.
The Award's judging panel is chaired by Dr Veronica Burke, Director of the Accelerated Talent Development Programme and the General Management Programme at Cranfield University which has offered a place on its Accelerated Talent Development Programme as part of the winner's prize package.
