Women in the City Champions – Overview

Harnessing enthusiasm, commitment and energy

Women In The City

Since we launched in 2003, thousands of women have benefitted from attending Women in the City events, connecting with like-minded business women and men and being part of the wider Women in the City community and support network.

Hundreds of women have been nominated for our Women of Achievement and Future Leaders Awards and our Award winners have benefitted from the additional exposure (both internally and externally) that winning gives them.

And to mark our 10th anniversary year in 2013 we introduced our Champions Club as a way of harnessing all that enthusiasm, commitment and energy to enable Women in the City to for the benefit of all .

Who are our Champions?

In a nutshell they’re intelligent, thoughtful and talented business women, working in a variety of organisations and include women at the start of their careers as well as those who have reached the very top of international corporates.

Many reflect our “City” heritage (accountants, lawyers, bankers, insurers, financiers) or are working in professional practices as architects, engineers, doctors, management consultants. But we also have plenty of women working in a variety of roles (marketing, technology, HR/D&I) representing many business sectors both profit and not-for-profit.

What they have in common is they all share our values and aims and will have a strong sense of “paying forward” to future generations of female leaders.  Our Amethyst members are students and for them, joining the Champions Club is free.

What does it mean to be a Champion?

We’re asking our Champions to actively support Women in the City and its aims.  We want to know that you’re someone whose committed to the progress of women and we hope you’ll support us in other ways, too.

By actively championing the work of Women in the City you’ll be at the heart of our continued progress and long-term development.  Your commitment is instrumental in steering WIC to continue to be a leading organisation in promoting, recognising and rewarding female talent.
