Gilly Lord

Partner, Head of Regulatory Affairs, PwC

Professional Services Category Award Winner 2015

Professional Services- Gilly Lord    PWC Logo

It is an absolute honour to be recognised in this way by Women in the City for the Professional Services Category Award.  There are so many amazing women working in professional services that I feel extremely proud to have won this award.  I am dedicated to supporting women’s progress, gender equality and diversity both in my firm and in the wider professional services sector and I hope that this accolade will help inspire others in the sector.  I’m grateful that I have an outstanding team of friends and colleagues who help me achieve a fulfilling professional and personal life.

Personal Profile

Gilly is a PwC UK partner, Chartered Accountant and Council Member at the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).  Gilly is PwC UK’s Head of Regulatory Affairs and is responsible for the firm’s relationships with regulators and professional bodies as well as personally leading on many areas of public policy.

Gilly is a member of PwC’s Assurance Executive Board where she has responsibility for reputation and policy. She is passionate about gender equality and, in her words, ‘made a nuisance of herself ‘ to help persuade leadership to publish the firm’s gender pay gap.  Gilly works flexibly on a four days a week basis, is married and has a six year old daughter, who inspires her to work even harder to achieve true equality in the workplace.

Watching an episode about #CrossRail. Such an amazing project. If you laid the Shard, Europe's tallest building, lengthways it wouldn't be the length of #Farringdon Station which, incidentally was project managed by a woman.

@UHHSKathenaSWAN Yes it is. These days is hard to find something +tive when it comes to women. It's not so much #SlowProgress as #NoProgress and even #BackwardsProgress @TiinaRoose

Women are 13 percent less likely to be named as authors on scientific papers. At entry level they were less likely to get credit, though they spent the same time as work as men. #SameOldSameOld thetimes.co.uk/article/ef1299…

@ginasue What a world for women 😡 So much progress has been made in the half century of my adult life. So much now being eroded. #SadAndAngry
